This brewery and restaurant is worth visiting, whether it’s just for a drink or for a more substantial meal, as it’s part of Toruń’s history. There’s some heritage to the building itself, with the cellar bar being where drinkers may want to head and the restaurant area is on the ground floor, with two floors above which are usually used for private events only.

The brewers are proud of their beer and can make recommendations, or it’s possible instead just to order a tasting set which gives 125ml each of four different beers. The gingerbread beer has some depth of flavour to it, with monthly specials also being brewed to add some variety to the options. The meals are served in generous portions and consist of hearty Polish food, with strong German influences, with the prices charged for the food and drink being reasonable. It’s a spacious dining and drinking environment, with a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

The pork knuckle roasted in beer is recommended, as is the dessert of plums in a gingerbread sauce.

The restaurant is open from 11.00 until 23.00 on Mondays to Thursdays, from 11.00 until 00.00 on Fridays and Saturdays and from 11.00 until 22.00 on Sundays.
